Age 89, late of Burnham, Il passed away Friday, August 21, 2015. Born in East Chicago, IN. Married to Virginia Burczak (nee McLean) for 59 years. Children: Darline Burczak, Teresa (Allen) Kulasa, David (Mary) Burczak, Nancy Tallent (Larry Nellemann), Philip (Karen) Burczak and Ann (Tod) Sills. Grandchildren: Dale (Ben) Walters, Patrick Nellemann, Keith Burczak, Kaytlin Burczak, Dan Burczak, R.J. (Brandy) Zamora, Scott Burczak, Rebecca Burczak, Jerod Burczak, Rhiannon Burczak, Jazmyn Sills, Nicolus Sills, Lillie Sills, Stacey (Mario) Siller and Nick Nellemann. Great Grandchildren: Chloe and Lucy Walters, Josiah, Ava, and Gracie Zamora, Alex Galarza, Mario and Gianna Siller. Sister: Carol (late Raymond) Buzinski. Many loved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Isador and Anna (nee Semik) Burczak and siblings: Emily Burzcak, Stephanie Kolodziej, Angie (Joe) Kaniuk, John (Rose) Burczak, Victoria Burczak and Helen Idrizow.

Walter proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in Japan.  He was also a member of St. Florian Church and American Legion Post 369, East Chicago, IN.  Walter retired from Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad after 37 years.  He loved life and his family.  Whether it was camping in the mountains, swimming in the ocean or just a good old Sox baseball game, Walter leaves us all with many wonderful memories.  A special thank you to caregivers: Keith, Kaytlin, Dan, Scott, Phyllis and Jean.
