Viola Granat (nee Resa) passed away peacefully, Friday, June 6, 2025, surrounded by love and family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness. Born on March 9, 1950, Viola's warmth and radiant spirit touched everyone she encountered. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Granat and a pillar of strength for her family.
As the loving mother of Humberto (Amanda) Robles, Anna (Richard) Rodriguez, Linda (Manuel) Barrera, and Michael Robles, Viola's nurturing heart was the foundation upon which her family thrived.
Viola's joy was multiplied as a caring grandmother to Krystel (Christian) Castaneda, Manuel C. Barrera, Joshua Barrera, Elizja Robles, Samuel Robles, Alania Robles, and Lewis Robles. Her love knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Christian X. Castaneda, Isaiah Castaneda, and Clarissa Castaneda, whose lives were brightened by her gentle wisdom and endless affection.
Ever the matriarch, Viola held a special place in her heart for the Rodriguez grandchildren, lovingly known as "Grandma G." Her kindness and grace were a beacon of light for her family, guiding them through life's challenges with an unwavering sense of hope and positivity.
Viola was a kind sister to Angela (Pete) Raya, the late Ernest F. "Popeye" (late Josie) Chico, the late Victor "Snooky" (Virginia) Resa, the late Diane (Arthur) Samaniego, Lydia Resa, Aurora (Robert) Resa-Grzeskowiak, and Victor (Debrah) Resa. Her siblings will remember her as a source of endless support and a confidante, whose presence was a comfort in both joyous and difficult times.
Her role as a dear aunt and God Mother only further exemplified her generous spirit, as she guided and loved many nieces and nephews throughout their lives. Viola's influence extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Louise Resa, and her cherished husband, Frank A. Granat, Viola's memory will live on in the hearts of those she left behind. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and the beauty of a life well-lived.
Throughout her life, Viola was deeply involved in teaching others about prayer, love for the Lord, and the importance of faith. Her work history and association involvement were reflections of her dedication to these spiritual pursuits. She was a woman who lived her beliefs, and her kind, generous, and thoughtful nature was evident in every interaction and every lesson she imparted.
Viola Granat's life was a testament to the power of giving, and her memory will serve as an inspiration to all. Her spirit, characterized by her thoughtfulness and generous nature, will continue to guide her family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories of her love and the lessons she imparted will be cherished forever.
