Shirley M. Jones departed this life on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the age of 95.
Born on December 6, 1928, Shirley had a long, happy, and healthy life. Always a strong and fiercely independent woman, she was truly ahead of her time. Preceded in death by her husband Lee. H Jones in 1986. Her beloved parents, Henry and Caroline Brandenburg, siblings: Lucille, Loretta, Lorraine, and Dorothy, and dear sister-in-law Betty Trueblood.
A devoted wife and mother, Shirley nurtured her children with unwavering support and encouragement to work hard and always do the right thing. She guided them with a stiff backbone but a wise, loving, and caring heart. She leaves behind her. Four children: John H. (Laura) Milner, Cynthia S. (Rick) Milner, Patricia L. (Glenn) Maule, and Robert W. (Rita) Jones, each of whom carries a piece of her legacy in their heart and approach to life. To them, she was not just a mother but an example of strength, independence, and tenacity.
In her role as grandmother, Shirley's family circle widened, encompassing her seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Christine, April, Richard, Jessica, Samantha, and Robbie. As time marched on, she was fortunate enough to become a proud great-grandmother of 14 little ones who brought even more excitement into her life. She was not just a mother and grandmother; she was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Shirley's spirit remained vibrant, reminding everyone of the importance of family. Each moment shared with them is a memory etched in the annals of their lives, where her spirit will resonate forever.
