Nicholas G. Georgiou, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Evdokia Georgiou and the loving father of George (Violet) Georgiou and Kathryn (Kevin T. Gulley) Georgiou. Proud grandfather of Elena, Nicholas and Michael Georgiou. Proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Nicholas was born on March 15, 1928 in the small village of Skaloula, Doridos, Greece to George and Vasiliki Georgiou. He was a proud immigrant. He was a resident of Hegewisch for the past 60 years. Nicholas arrived to the United States in 1954 and was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. He was very proud of his Greek heritage. Everyone who knew him loved him instantly. He touched many lives with his positive personality. Above all, he will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, his work ethic, his endless commitment and devotion to his family, and his generous spirit. May his memory be eternal.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Opyt Funeral Home, 13350 S. Baltimore Ave., Chicago, IL 60633.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 13631 S. Brainard Ave., Chicago, IL 60633.
