Mary Agatha Peña (nee Terronez)

Age 97, late of Hegewisch, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Rafael Peña, loving companion of Pete Bustamante. Loving mother of Rosemary (Eulon) Barnett, Lupe (Douglas) Jones, Patricia (Victor Uranowski) Garcia, Rita (James) Massa, Catherine (Gary) Shields, Anna (Michael) Freeman and Jacqueline (Richard Dalanas) Williams. Loving grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 20. Cherished sister of Cecilia Campos, half-brothers, nieces and numerous family and friends from Moline/Silvas/Rock Island (where Mary grew up). Mary was a proud member of the Southeast Lions Club and a devout parishioner of St. Kevin Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Besides being a great hardworking Mom, she was an avid gardener and fabulous cook. Mary was a remarkable lady who put a smile on all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She will be dearly missed by all.
