Kathleen D. Saberniak (nee Corner), age 74, late of Hegewisch, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born on January 20, 1949, Kathleen brought warmth and love into the lives of those around her. She had a gentle and compassionate spirit that touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her kind and caring nature was evident in every aspect of her life.
Kathleen's greatest joy was her family. She was the beloved wife of Albert H. Saberniak Jr. for 53 years. Together they shared a beautiful journey filled with love and laughter. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love for each other served as an inspiration to all.
As a mother, Kathleen poured her heart into raising her children and grandchildren and nurturing them into the remarkable individuals they have become. Her children were blessed to have such a devoted and selfless mother who always put their needs above her own. Jennifer (Larry) Kieltyka, Christopher (late Jennifer) Saberniak, Allison (Brad) Batka, and Michael (Whitney) Saberniak carry their mother's love in their hearts forever.
Kathleen cherished the role of being a grandmother. She delighted in showering her grandchildren with affection and creating lasting memories with each one of them. Lauren, Brad, Cal, Mikaela, Brienna, Kaylyn, Cooper, and Devin were the apples of her eye. Kathleen's proud spirit rejoiced when she became a great grandmother to Sophia Marie; she cherished this role with immense joy.
She also shared a close bond with her brother David (Michelle) Corner. They were not only siblings but also confidants who supported each other through life's ups and downs. Sadly preceded in death by her sister Debbie (Larry) Cord, Kathleen held their memories close, cherishing the moments they shared.
Kathleen's love extended beyond her immediate family. She was a dear aunt to Max Corner and Jacob Corner, enriching their lives with her love and wisdom.
Kathleen D. Saberniak was a remarkable woman whose presence brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering love, kindness, and selflessness left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She will be remembered as a beacon of light and a source of inspiration for generations to come.
