Josephine Shanahan

Josephine "Jo" Shanahan [Jackson] passed away peacefully in her home with dignity March 20th 2021. Loving mother of  Daniel Jackson, and Darlene (Dwayne) Stegner. Loving Grandmother of her poopsie Troy Jackson, and Stephanie (Josh) Phillips. Proud Great grandmother “GG” of Colton and Ashlyn Phillips. Loving sister and best friend to Jean (Richard) Cholipski.  Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her children: Tony (Pat) Jackson Jr., and Sandra Jackson;  husbands: Anthony Jackson Sr., and John Shanahan;  parents: John and Elizabeth Wywra; and brother Jerome “Butch" (Margo) Wywra.

Josephine was born July 18th 1935 in South Chicago and was a lifelong resident of Hegewisch. She was an avid bingo player and loved going to the casino.

With respect to State of Illinois Guidelines during this time of Covid-19, the visitation at the funeral home is limited to 50 people or less at a time, social distancing and face masks that cover the mouth and nose are required upon entry (face masks will not be provided by the funeral home).
