As the beloved mother of Charles Mellendorf, Michelle (Douglas) Majda and Jack Mellendorf Jr., she took tremendous pride in watching her children grow and flourish. She reveled in her role as a grandmother to Katelyn Majda and Colin Majda, showering them with love and wisdom that will remain etched in their hearts forever.
Sister to Janet (late Ray) Liden and Kathleen Winiczay, Joan shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings. Together, they built a legacy of support and shared laughter that enriched their lives. She also held her nieces and nephews close, including Brian (Laura) Liden and Tracy (Dan) Ahmar, and the next generation: great-nephew Cody Kotowski, great-niece Sarah Liden, and great-nephew Ethan Liden, each giving her new reasons to smile and celebrate.
Joan's life was profoundly shaped by her late husband, Jack Mellendorf, whose memory she cherished deeply. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Catherine Winiczay, and her brother Kenneth Winiczay, as well as her niece, Catherine (late Michael) Kotowski and nephew, Timothy Winiczay.
