James W. Przekwas, a retired comptroller from First Savings Bank of Hegewisch, passed away at the age of 70 on May 18th, 2023 in his hometown of Hegewisch. Born on February 26th, 1953 as the son of Ben and Ann Przekwas.
James was an active member of the community and had lived a fulfilling life with his loved ones. He served in the Army before starting his long career at First Savings Bank, where he made many special relationships and lifelong friends.
His love for animals and especially dogs was well known by all who knew him. James would often be found walking through Mann Park with his pockets full of dog treats, which he enjoyed handing out to every dog he met.
Not only was James committed to those around him in his personal life, but he was also a dedicated Army Veteran. James proudly and honorably served his country, embodying the values of sacrifice and hard work that we all admire.
James was also an avid Sox fan and war history buff - two hobbies that he loved to share with anyone who would listen. He was also always equipped with his trusty watch which never left his wrist. He will be remembered for being kind-hearted, generous, and selfless.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Ann Przekwas. James leaves behind his uncle Richard Kaminski, aunt Roberta Kaminski, goddaughter Mia Rose Faciana and many cousins. He was a dear friend of Rose and self-appointed uncle of Samantha Brooks and Zachary Brooks.
James W. Przekwas will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the countless memories he has left behind.
