Edward "Lalo" Martinez

Age 22, late of Hegewisch, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Loving Son of Maria Jean Martinez and Edward Jerome Runnels. Dear Brother of Alan J. Calderon, Viviana G. Calderon, Christian N. Calderon, Nicolas G. Calderon, Victoria Runnels, and DeAndre Runnels. Kind nephew to Dwyonna K. Williamson, Alicia L. Jany, late Cecilia Y. Almanza, Jennifer Runnels, Jeffery Runnels, John Runnels, Damon Runnels, and Terrance Runnels. Edward was a soft-spoken, gentle, but very simple and strong-minded man. Edward was a protective brother, kind nephew, uncle, and cousin to many. Edward completed Lincoln’s Challenge Military School in Rantoul, IL and earned his High School Diploma in 2016 at Chicago Community Colleges. Edward enlisted into the United States Army on September 25, 2018 active duty PFC E. Martinez. Edward served as 88H Cargo Specialist; stationed out of Fort Story, Virginia. Edward was loved and will be missed dearly by all family, friends, and loved ones. He touched the hearts of so many people and will always be remembered for his soft, gentle, nurturing soul and heart of gold.

With respect to State of Illinois Guidelines of Phase 4 during this time of Covid -19, the visitation is limited to 50 people or less at a time, social distancing and face masks are required upon entry (face masks will not be provided by the funeral home or cemetery).
