Denise was an avid reader of various countries and their customs, unique building designs, birds, and flowers. She enjoyed visiting art museums having her sketch pad in her hands stopping along the way drawing the beautiful scenes. Her variety of art mediums included watercolors, charcoals, pastels, paints, and ink. Visiting locations included Shedd Aquarium, zoos and planetariums in the cities she visited with her family. Walking and swimming along the seashore and lakes were important to Denise for she would stop to draw the beautiful scenes and her pictures were found in her sketch pads. As a teacher Denise valued being an honor student from grammar school through her master's classes. She stressed to her students the importance of education. Denise enjoyed helping students from preschool through adults teaching them to learn to read. Denise's love of studying Latin helped her students in the study of reading and vocabulary skills. Her quiet activities included walking, reading the daily lives of Saint Padre Pio, Saint Therese Lisieux, Saint Anthony of Padua, with a special devotion to Infant Jesus of Prague. Denise’s favorite devotions included Novena in Honor of Saint Anne, Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet. She met with a prayer group of family members or varying ages on Tuesday's. Denise's sense of humor made many people laugh in the most difficult times. Along with her playing the piano and love of animals, Denise was a quiet, peaceful, loving and happy family member. When walking through nature, visiting museums and praying in Church, gazing at the evening stars please, stop and say a prayer for Denise.
