Christine E. Gatton (nee Przybysz)

Christine E. Gatton (Nee Przybysz) age 87 of Hegewisch. Passed away peacefully on June 6th 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Christine was retired from Helene Curtis after having previously worked at Moll’s restaurant, Car Carriers, Verson Allsteel Press and Tranzact. Christine loved to dance, swim, travel and spending time with friends both in person and online but most of all loved spending time with her family. 

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Martin W. Gatton Sr. Proud mom to Thomas Gatton, Elizabeth Gatton, Christine (the late Louis) Zaklan, Theresa Gatton, Mary Ann (Ken) Miotk, Rose Marie (Kevin) Brooks, Joseph T. Gatton and Martin (Michelle) Gatton Jr. Adoring grandmother to Evans and George Jimenez, Thomas, Anthony and Ryan Gatton, Edward (Stephanie) Wielosinski, Timothy Wielosinski, Victoria Wielosinski, Raymond (Melissa) Zaklan, Christopher Zaklan, Daniel Zaklan, Lucas Patton, Eric Patton, Kenneth (Sandra) Miotk, Jenniffer (Nick) Kerr, Laura (Jay) Jones, Sammantha (Damien) Brooks, Zachary (Amy) Brooks, Matthew Gatton, Mackenzie Gatton. Cherished GG to Kailani, Kamron and Devin Gatton, Leah and Owen Wielosinski, Reese and Paulina Zaklan, L.J. and Brooklyn Miotk, Nathan and Nolan Kerr and Dylan Jones and Gianna Mori. Loving sister of Diane Przybysz. Sister in law of Ilene (the late Ken) Smith, Joseph (Kathy) Gatton and Marianne Gatton. Beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Loving cousin of many. Preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Victoria Przybysz, daughter in law of Joseph and Christine Gatton, sister of Stanley (Helen) Przybysz, sister in law of Edward Gatton, Gerald (Betty) Gatton and James Gatton. Lifelong friend of Catherine Hruskocy, Donna Oberman,  Leona Jendra, the late Lorraine Wade, Diane Schuster and the late Lois McKinney. Dedicated dog Mom to her faithful companion and protector Brutus.

Visitation Monday, June 12th,  2-8 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, June 13th, 9:15 a.m. from the Opyt Funeral Home 13350 S. Baltimore to St. Florian Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
