Aurelio Quintero, age 88, late of Hegewisch, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. He was born on November 30, 1936 in Los Herreras, Durango, Mexico. Aurelio was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his wife Lucila Quintero, son Aurelio Quintero Jr., parents Manuel Quintero and Juliana Chavez Quintero, as well as his siblings Gilberto, Romaldo, Jesus, Maria and Felix; Aurelio leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Aurelio is survived by his children: Efrain (Rosavelia) Quintero, Fidel Quintero, Vilma Quintero, Edith (Fidel) Herrera, Lucila Quintero and Cynthia (Jose) Esparza. He was a loving father who always put his family first. His children were the joy of his life.

He was also a proud grandfather of twelve. Aurelio treasured spending time with his grandchildren and embraced every moment he had with them. Watching them grow brought him immense happiness and pride.

In addition to his roles as a father and grandfather, Aurelio was a caring brother to Julia and Juan Angel. He cherished their bond and the memories they created together.

Aurelio's warm heart extended beyond his immediate family. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends whose lives he touched with kindness and compassion. His presence will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Aurelio Quintero, de 88 años, fallecido en Hegewisch, falleció el martes 5 de diciembre de 2023. Nació el 30 de noviembre de 1936 en Los Herreras, Durango, México. Aurelio fue un querido padre, abuelo, hermano y amigo. Todos los que lo conocieron y amaron lo extrañarán profundamente.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposa Lucila Quintero, su hijo Aurelio Quintero Jr., sus padres Manuel Quintero y Juliana Chávez Quintero, así como sus hermanos Gilberto, Romaldo, Jesús, María y Félix; Aurelio deja tras de sí un legado de amor y recuerdos preciados.

A Aurelio le sobreviven sus hijos: Efraín (Rosavelia) Quintero, Fidel Quintero, Vilma Quintero, Edith (Fidel) Herrera, Lucila Quintero y Cynthia (José) Esparza. Fue un padre amoroso que siempre puso a su familia en primer lugar. Sus hijos fueron la alegría de su vida.

También era un orgulloso abuelo de doce hijos. Aurelio valoraba pasar tiempo con sus nietos y disfrutaba cada momento que pasaba con ellos. Verlos crecer le produjo una inmensa felicidad y orgullo.

Además de sus papeles como padre y abuelo, Aurelio era un hermano cariñoso para Julia y Juan Ángel. Apreciaba su vínculo y los recuerdos que crearon juntos.

El cálido corazón de Aurelio se extendió más allá de su familia inmediata. También le sobreviven muchas sobrinas, sobrinos y amigos cuyas vidas tocó con bondad y compasión. Su presencia será muy extrañada por todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.
