In memory of Mildred M. “Dolly” Podsiadlik, nee Guadagno.  Mildred passed away at her home surrounded by family and loved ones on January 10, 2018. Born in 1935, Mildred was a lifelong resident of East Side and Hegewisch communities. She was married for 29 years to the late Edward A. Podsiadlik, Jr and together they raised four sons: Dominic (Laura), Kenneth, Robert (Susan), and Edward III (Ph.D.). She is also survived by seven grandsons: Brian (Alycia), David (Brooke), Dominic, Leslie, Nicholas, Simon, and Ethan and one great-grandson, Calvin. Other survivors include sister Irene, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished family, neighbors, and friends. After over 20 years of bookkeeping service at the East Side Bank and Trust Company Mildred retired and enjoyed many years dedicated to enjoying the more simple pleasure of life. She remained steadfastly committed to her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother. In the words of her favorite author Agatha Christie, “A Mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world.” Although her absence will remain forever unthinkable in the hearts of those she held most dear, her spirit of unconditional love and service is eternal.
